Alain Renaud - Renaud (1975)

Alain Renaud is a fantastic French guitarist and collaborator with Richard Pinhas and his Heldon projects. Honestly, I don’t (yet) know enough about Renaud’s story to give you any kind of meaningful description of his overall story. I mainly know him from his collaborations with Richard Pinhas and Heldon. This first album of his really does it for me. Don’t even know how to describe… Renaud’s creates aural textures in the vein of Brian Eno, but then plays acoustic passages, or rips these weirdly gentle/ferocious lead bits throughout… both complex and soothing… out there album but I loves it.

1976 French reissue on Urus Records and this far, has never seen additional reissues since, no CD, no streaming, etc. Literally arrived in today’s mail. Really stoked to be playing this on the hi-fi this evening.
