Bloodrock (1970)

While I’ve known about Bloodrock for ages, I only recently dug into the albums over the past few years. Great heavy blues rock band outta Fort Worth, Texas that reach a modest level of success with a string of solid albums throughout the 1970s. The first album is a great set of tunes in the vein of Grand Funk Railroad or Nitzinger. Nice switlingmorgan at time and heavy, sometime roomy riffs (Timepiece). Grand Funk producer Terry Knight also worked with these fellas for a number of years and the production quality definitely benefits from that relationship. Recommend jams.

Original 1970 US pressing on Capitol Records. Bloodrock albums arent hard to find, but copies in good condition is a bit more of a hunt. I picked this up in Santa Barbara a few years ago and it’s a beater, but plays real good. Crazy how much an old record can be rehabilitated with a little extra TLC.
