Girlschool - Screaming Blue Murder (1982)

I feel like I am way less familiar with this album than I should be. The band had been building on their success of their first two LPs and labels were starting to notice. This even received a US release on Bronze in collaboration with Polygram and way more distribution than their first two. Despite the heavier label involvement, the band managed to crank out another banger and this album retains much of the NWOBHM greatness as the first two with a slight tilt towards a wider audience. It rocks. Unfortunately, it’s their last before their label decides to push them hard into the LA glam metal scene, both affecting their sound and vibe.

1982 US pressing. Again, the track listing is all switched around from the UK version. On the upside, it does include that cover of ZZ Top’s Tush that was removed from the US pressing of Hit And Run…as an extra track vs. removing anything. I’m good with it.
