Hollenthon is an unusual case for me. There is a lot I have yet to read up on, despite being a fan of their music since first hearing this album on CD, probably back in 2001-2002. At first I wasn’t sure what to make of them. Musically it’s a little bit like mid-period Therion, but that falls apart after a bit of listening. Still a fan although they haven’t released anything since 2009. Metal Archives has their status as on hold, so who knows. This album is pretty smoking, though.
2023 Netherlands reissues on Hammerheart Records. First time on vinyl, like ever. Sounds great!
