I’ve casually been listening to a Saint Vitus since the 1980s, but I’d be lying if I said I was a major fan of them all along. After an initial WTF impression they started to grow on me slowly. It wasn’t really until the last ten years or so that I really got into them to the point where I’m kicking myself for not doing better all these years. These guys were simultaneously way behind and way ahead of their time. The whole punk adjacent thin, being on SST, Spot produced albums, the lo-fi recordings, the doom! One of a kind band!
From what I can tell this is another 2009 repress. Honestly, SST represses are tough to distinguish as there are not often indicators to tell the pressing apart from each other. All that said, it sounds good and the album is great!
