Samson’s second release with Bruce Dickinson (their 3rd album overall) is even better than the previous album. The production is a little better and both the songs and performances are notable even better than the already solid Head On. Dickinson seems to shine even more with this album and I can’t help but wonder if the band would had continued success if he had stayed on instead of splitting for Maiden? I think he made the right move, but Samson did seem like they were only getting better in 1981… of course that wasn’t the case and the band would face some challenging years ahead. But in 1981, they are killing it!
2017 reissue on US label Real Gone Music. No gatefold for this one, but also red vinyl, or rather “loincloth” red vinyl according to the hype sticker.
