The Black Hand - War Monger (2002)

This Montréal thrash metal/crust punk band put out only a small handful of releases in their short run. A cassette EP, a live EP CDr release, and one proper album… this!  It’s a pretty decent offering generally a solid spin, but there’s not much that stands out to differentiate songs from one another and the whole album is produced in a way that there not a lot of life coming out of it. Still, the LP thrashy enough and short enough that the sameness doesn’t kill the party. Anyone that knows me will know that I bought this because of the Away (Michel Langevin) artwork, hah. It’s true, but I’m happy about it.

Only one vinyl pressing of this was made for its original release in 2002 by German label Scorched Earth Policy. Found this at a shop called Recycled Records in San Francisco a few years back… think I bought a couple of Loudness records at the same time, hah!
