Angel Witch has a proper album of the same name that came out in 1986. This is not that. This is in fact a compilation album made up of half of the actual Frontal Assault (1986) album and half of Screamin’ N’ Bleedin’ (1985), released exclusively in the US market. If I had the original albums, I wouldn’t bother with this record but as those are tough to find, I’m happy to have this kicking around. The Screamin’ N’ Bleedin’ material is the best of what’s offered here. The Frontal Assault album leans into a more commercial sound as isn’t as good… it’s still alright.
1988 US pressing on JCI Records. Found this at a superbly curated record shop in Las Vegas called Moondog Records, which I recommend checking out. Prices are a little high, but the aforementioned curation so good it makes it absolutely worth digging in. You won’t miss the money and the owner is friendly guy who knows definitely what’s up with good tunes.
