Brian Eno’s second solo album somehow fell into a blind spot for me and I’m not sure how or why. I literally had never listened to it before and only recently added it to my digital collection. I found this vinyl copy at a record show over the weekend and this marks my first play (I can’t believe I’m saying that in 2024).
The blind spot what further highlighted when I put on side 2 to hear Third Uncle, a song I have been long familiar with as covered by Bauhaus. While always aware it was an Eno cover, I never gave any thought to which album it was from. Need more spins to take it all in, but first impression is that it’s fantastic.
1982 US reissue on Editions EG. Very nice.
