Clutch (1995)

Amazing sophomore album from these heavy rock weirdos. The band were still fine tuning their sound at this point but fell into an unbelievably excellent groove combined sophisticated/goofy lyrical themes. Nothing quite this band, and nothing remotely like this album out there. This is a 10/10 for me.

Around 1996-97 I found a stack of promo CD copies of this at a local shop for $1 each and bought them all to give to friends I thought might like it. If memory serves, it was an effective conversation method with my friend group at the time, haha.

2018 European reissue by Music On Vinyl/EastWest Records and it’s a lovely pressing.
