I first discovered Drudkh on some blog where I was leeching mp3 downloads back in the mid-2000s and I think I nabbed both this and their second album Autumn Aurora at the same time. It wasn’t long before I became enamored with this obscure (at the time) Ukrainian black metal band that had a distinct showgaze vibe. The music is harsh, but the repetition and the distortion unfolded a sonic landscape of dark tales and I was hooked. I think I got the original CDs on Ebay from a Russian seller or some shit way back because I could t find their stuff anywhere.
BTW, all hails Ukraine. 🇺🇦 Fuck off, Putin!
This is a 2019 reissue/repress on French label subsidiary Season Of Mist Underground Activists. Cover is different from the original CD version, but it’s alright and the LP itself sounds great.
