Released the same year as their first album Vikingligr Veldi, Frost shows an early shift on the bands sound towards the progressive, via frozen aggression and subtle folk elements. The production values are up a bit here and the band puts the Norse mythology a tad more upfront than prior releases. The brutality remains and much of the album is fast as fuck. Interesting record, without a doubt and just a tiny hint of future directions. Killer shit!
2017 reissue on French label Osmose Productions. Osmose unleashed a really fantastic set of Enslaved reissues from the band’s time with them.
