Erkin Koray is a legend of Anatolian psychedelic rock. He released a number of singles in the late 1960s and early 70s and gained a lot of notoriety in Turkey at the time blending western psychedelic music with traditional Turkish sounds. This first self-titled album is actually just a collection of singles and not a true debut full-length, but that does not diminish how great it is as well as it’s importance as a document of his early works.
Originally released in Turkey in 1973, there has never been an official physical reissue of this LP. This particular copy is only the second of two unofficial vinyl reissues… a European pressing from 2020 on a label called Got It!. Honestly, the quality is quite good! So glad to have found this!
