Far Out were a heavy psychedelic rock band outta Japan that dropped just one album in 1973, before transforming into the Far East Family Band. This record is actually quite fantastic. Ver heavy psych, but with doom elements and eastern Asian sounds and the result is absolute fire. Just two tracks (one per side) Nihonjin is a minor masterwork.if ever come across this record, you should absolutely pick it up.
This is an unofficial 2009 reissue on the mysterious UK label Phoenix Records who dropped a lot of Japanese psych and heavy rock records during the time that were apparently unlicensed. Quality is acceptable and while I’d prefer something band sanctioned, it’s an alright release.
