The second Flash LP is not that drastically different from the first..Importantly, Tony Kaye does not play on this record and keys are covered in the studio by Peter Banks and if anything, the light keys makes room for a more guitar driven sound and that’s alright. The bass is also much more front and center on this album, which does give it a Yes vibe with that Chris Squire bass tone. Derek Lawrence produces this album too, but Birch is not involved. Still, the album sounds great, so gonna take that as Lawrence knew his shit. Note: I looked him up, and he definitely knew his shit. Another oddly suggestive Hipgnosis cover to boot.
Another original US pressing on Sovereign/Capitol Records. Also from my local vinyl garage. Got these first couple Flash LPs at the same time. This one has a hole punch in the cover, but is in otherwise primo condition.
Not sure why it’s tough to find these albums on YouTube, but here’s the album opener “Lifetime”.
