Hawkwind (1970)

Being a metal guy back in the 80s, I got into Hawkwind because I was interested in what Lemmy was up to before forming Motörhead. I expected it to be good. What I did not expect what that Hawkwind would become one of my favorite bands. I was quickly comvinced I need all the Lemmy era releases and what came before. After a short bit, I was able to also find a lot of the post-Lemmy albums for low enough prices to make me get them too and that’s when I knew I was into this band for the full haul.. and that’s saying a lot as Hawkwind has a ton of releases. All that said, this is their very first LP and it’s a beautiful thing!

2015 US reissue on Parlophone on orange vinyl. It’s a near perfect release despite a weird blue ink printing error on the front cover sleeve. Sound is fantastic.
