Pink Floyd returns without Roger Waters! I remember thinking it was too bad the official lineup was down to just David Gilmour and Nick Mason, but have to hand it to them, this album is a much more enjoyable spin than The Final Cut. Richard Wright does return for this album, but still as a salaried employee. They also brought in the unparalleled Tony Levin to play bass on this album, so no problems in that regard. It’s definitely a more commercial release for Floyd, but it’s a welcome reprieve and really, a welcome return. It’s the 80s, but the feel is on point.
1987 Canadian pressing on Columbia and it’s fantastic,
