Michael Schenker left the Scorpions for UFO not long after the first album was released. He was subsequently replaced by Uli John Roth and as incredible as Michael Schenker has always been, somehow Roth is an even bette fit for the Scorpions. Like Schenker, Roth very much has a neoclassical style of playing, but his approach is drastically different, and insanely works even better here. Production is top notch here too, even if Conny Plank isn’t involved… great sound! Cover is another conversation, hah!
1974 US pressing on RCA. Not a first press, but sounds fantastic.
