German proto-metal dudes The Hand Of Doom were a blip on the radar in 1979 and their sole album is unlike anything else I can think of this era. It’s very much hard rock/proto-metal but also has a late 1980s punk/sludge vibe… even a little like Tad or the Mentors (not lyrically)., but like years before and on a different continent. Despite the low-effort cover and a less than complimentary band photo, it’s a pretty good album end to end.
2019 reissue on German label On The Dole Records and it sounds pretty great.
