Trapeze was an early heavy rock/proto-metal band that is a bit like a supergroup, except that no in the band was famous yet… but all would be later on, separately. Bassist/singer Glenn Hughes, drummer Dave Holland, and guitarist Mel Galley. Medusa, their second album, is pretty stunning in that is made of of solid 70s jams with some standout, serious proto-metal tunes (see:Jury) that sound like Judas Priest years befoe Judas Priest even their sound. Even crazier is that Holland would later join Priest for their commercially successful 1980s run. If you like James Gang, Deep Purple, or Judas Priest, you should absolutely check out their first three albums with Hughes in the band. He’s got the fucking pipes!
1970 US pressing on Threshold (the label started by the Moody Blues). This copy has seen some parties for sure but it’s a good player.
