Though first released in 2023 this single LP live album was originally recorded in 2007 at the Camden Underworld in London. I don’t suppose I put much thought into it, but I expected the quality was going to be a lot worse than it sound. What I am hearing right now is a superbly produced live effort representing Akercocke’s early music and the band is absolutely smoking. I should mention this is my first ever listen of this one, so first impressions et.al.
2023 European pressing on Peaceville Records. The last of the great Akercocke albums I own on CD. Hope the Earache releases become available someday soon.
