These cats put out three albums during their original run and it was their second that the contained their biggest hit with “Ride Captain Ride”. While this, their debut album, is a hitless wonder, it’s a fantastic blend of heavy blues rock and Latin rhythms. These guys are kind of normal, but then not really. On their own wave, for sure. Their second album “Open” is the one to dig in in first, but of that passes the test, then hit this one next.
1969 US pressing in Atco Records. Came across this at a small hidden shop in Brooklyn called Tebel Records last time I was in NYC. Funny thing is I found my copy of “Open” at the same place when I last there in 2021. Not an expensive record or anything, but I haven’t seen it much in the wild.
