Buffalo were a killer heavy rock band formed in Sydney, Australia in 1971. One of the first Australian heavy rock / proto-metal bands, even pre-dating AC/DC they dropped some scorching albums, but never quite broke out of the underground scene.
Their first album “Dead Forever…” sets the precedent with heavy riffs and occasionally dark themes. Guitarist John Baxter elevates the band with his rotate and songcraft and overall, it’s solid. This alum also has two singers, with primary singer and madman Dave Tice sharing vocal duties with singer Alan Milano as “co-lead vocalist”. Milano would leave after this release and Tice would carry the band until its demise in 1977.
2003 Italian reissue in Akarma. Found this at a record show back in 2018 and it’s fantastic.
