Chris Squire - Fish Out Of Water (1975)

Of all the Yes members with solo albums, it is Chris Squire’s Fish Out Of Water that remains my all-time favorite. All of the qualities of a proper Yes, including Squire’s vocals which are unexpectedly not that different than Jon Anderson’s. While i wouldn’t call this a progressive rock tour de force, it is an incredibly well crafted album with superb song craft and performances. This might be a me thing, but there a weird futuristic vibe to the songs and feel of the album that reminds me of bands like Rush or even Voïvod, while sounding nothing like either of those bands.  Includes fantastic guests such as Bill Bruford l, Patrick Moraz, and Mel Collins. Can still be had for like $3! Check it out!

1975 US pressing on Atlantic is a gem!!
