Having not officially released anything since 1993, Cynic drop Traced In Air in 2008 and it’s a solid follow up to their now legendary Focus LP. Only minor lineup changes with original guitarist Jason Gobel not participating in the reunion, but otherwise still Paul Masvidak, Sean Reinert, and Sean Malone plus guitarist Tymon stepping in for Gobel. Solid album.
2021 European reissue on Season Of Mist. This vinyl edition has been remixed and includes re-recorded bass by Sean Malone. I am not usually a fan of redoing albums after so many years, but this is a rare case where the revisions have emphasized the deeper feel of the first version, which was a tab bit cold.
