Deep Purple - The Book Of Taliesyn (1968)

The second Deep Purple LP is not too different from their first, but the band feels a bit more confident, tighter, and ready to drop a few more originals with all the covers. The production is a bit of a step backwards and it’s not nearly as full as “Shades…” but that doesn’t ruin the party. Their cover of Neil Diamond’s “Kentucky Woman “became a massive hit. Crazy how pop oriented Deep Purple were at the start, but they still jammed.

1968 US pressing on Tetragrammaton has seen some action, but plays great. Had this copy for ages.
