At this point, Gong drummer Pierre Moerlen has taken up the role of band leader and is further taking the band into jazz/fusion directions. Steve Hillage has now left the band, but Moerlen has brought in none other than Alan Holdsworth, who lays down some scorching guitar. Not the kind of music that brought me into Gong, but I can’t deny it; this LP is excellent. Also released under an alternate title of “Gazeuse!” with different artwork.
1976 US promo release on Virgin. Picked this up in Brooklyn, NY a few years ago and it’s a beauty. Sort of wish that big ass sticker didn’t cover up the artwork, but I’ll live.
