By 1983, Manilla Road had come a long way in refining their own style of epic heavy metal and Crystal Logic is a huge step forward in this direction. A number of iconic tunes here and the entire has a cohesive vibe of fantasy and adventure throughout . Even the cover art, with its many issues, evokes a sense of wonder… reminds me of trying to draw castles and structures when I was a kid to try and visually express the things I’d imagine from books or my life at 12-13. If I had this album at 13 I’d have been obsessed with it.
