This is actually an archival release of live recordings from 1986 featuring the original recording lineup and tunes from the band’s first two albums. And if you’re not familiar, the first two Metal Church albums are flawless. The recordings were “discovered” years later, restored, compiled, and released in CD on 1998. Other than some of these cuts coming from a Dallas show, much of recording details remain a mystery. Despite that fact, the recordings are awesome and daringly assembled to make a really cohesive and enjoyable live album.
German label High Roller Records released the first version of this on vinyl back in 2009 and this is the third vinyl pressing circa 2023. Just picked this up yesterday from Moondog Records in Las Vegas and it’s super clean.
