Osibisa (1971)

Some years back I stumbled upon this LP at a record show and could not pass on this album because of the amazing cover artwork by Roger Dean. What I did not know at the time was that Osibisa is a fucking gem of a band. Some killer progressive rock with a heavy dose of African polyrhythms and a shade of psychedelia. Formed in the UK, they were an international band made up of folks from Ghana, Granada, Nigeria, Antigua, and Trinidad. Dropped this on my turntable for the first time and I was totally in. This album smokes.

1971 US pressing on Decca. It’s seen some action, but it’s not worse for the wear.
