12-inch singles were definitely a cool 80s thing, but the best of these are the ones that had non album cuts. The Cult released a handful of these during the Electric album cycle and they are fantastic. The Love Removal Machine 12-inch includes the all version of the title track and an extended version plus the non-LP track “Wolf Child’s Blues” and it’s pretty badass. Definitely an outtake from the Electric sessions. The extended version of “Love Removal Machine” is more or less a curiosity and sucks a little, hah.
