While not released until 1996, Black Dots is a collection of Bad Brains studio demos known as the “Zientara Sessions” recorded at Inner Ear Studios in June of 1979. Early Bad Brains is some of the most potent and awesome hardcore punk ever to come out of the DC punk scene and this material is fantastic. While it features a lot of tracks later released on albums, there’s a good handful of previously unreleased material here that’s all pretty fucking good. Killer release.
2013 reissue on Spanish only market label Vinilisssimo. I’ve had Black Dots on CD since 1996, but just picked this LP up a few days ago and it smokes! Great pressing!
