By 1991 I sort of figured that COC had broken up at some point following the Technocracy tour in 1987. Pre-interwebz and the band was notably quiet for a number of years. I was out in Champagne-Urbana, IL at the time helping my brother move and came across this cassette in a local shop out there. I surprised and picked it up, only to be further surprised at how metallic and heavy it was. The band had endured further lineup changes and forged an entirely new path for themselves. The record didn’t take off at the time, but I think it got the band enough notice to move ahead with what was to come, Blind is a bit of a masterpiece and still painfully overlooked amongst the band’s discography. Fine album.
2014 US reissue on Prosthetic Records/Columbia/Sony Music. 2xLP release that includes all of the b-side tracks from the Vote With A Bullet CD-single. Very cool.
