Roughly 8 years since Deep Purple split and even longer since the complete MkII lineup existed. There are so many fascinating tales about this most renowned DP lineup and all of the members kept incredibly busy during their absence. Fortunately for us, the band was able to knock out one helluva banger with Perfect Strangers. The only major ingredient missing was Martin Birch, who was likely booked up with Iron Maiden at the time, but Roger Glover does a great job getting those sound waves to tape. This lineup would manage two more albums until the long running dislike between Blackmore and Gillan would eventually fracture them again.
Original 1984 US pressing on Mercury Records. I have two copies for this somehow and my other one is still sealed. Not into keeping unopened records around, but this is one of the few.
