Well, shit! There is no question that Bramton, Ontario thrashers Droid are heavily influenced by Voïvod, but what they capitalize on is the Eric Forrest era of Voïvod’s sound, bending it, molding it to their own making and the result is a record that is firmly in the Morgoth universe but uniquely Droid’s own vibe. This album is so well done I never ever get tired of it and have listened to it semi-regularly since in came out in 2017. Technical thrash, progressive, sci-fi, it’s everything I love about metal. This one goes to eleven in my brain.
