Metallica - Jump In The Fire (1983)

When you are on fire, you do as Metallica did in 1983. On the heels of their debut release Kill ‘Em All, a 12-inch single for Jump In The Fire makes perfect sense. The second side would include “live” versions of Seek & Destroy and Phantom Lord, except the crowd noises were added later and it’s not actually live. Kinda crazy, but I’m good with it. Metal a was killing it at the time and pretty sure this was label laziness… yet this was reissued as Whiplash in ‘84 using the same fake live tracks. I dunno, it’s kind of interesting to me that a band of Metallica’s caliber went through some of this 80s label BS and it’s somehow still pretty good.

1984 European pressing on Roadrunner Records. Had this since… shit, forever.
