This album is somewhat bananas, but I love it. Somehow, Daevid Allen ended up in NYC in 1980 and of course found himself hanging with a bunch of jazz/avant-garde/subversive art types and this sendup of the NYC music scene is so good it’s too good to really be just a lampoon. While leaning into punk and avan-garde, Allen managed to bring along his trademark goofiness and psychedelic excellence. Co-conspirators include Bill Laswell and Michael Beinhorn.
1980 UK pressing on Charly Records. Found this in… London.
