Well, despite losing brilliant guitarist and composer Uli John Roth, the Scorpions appear to be carrying on in fine fashion with the most excellent Lovedrive. Leaning into the still burgeoning heavy metal scene, the band are setting the stage for a Teutonic version of what’s to come. Features Michael Schenker on a few tracks as well as the debut appearance of (now) longtime guitarist Matthias Jabs.
1979 UK pressing on Harvest/EMI. Landed this fine copy at a shop called The Sound Maching in Reading, UK just a couple of years ago. It’s primo.
