At some point after the release of This Island Earth, both bassist Ismael Hernandez and drummer Rick Heller left the band, leaving only frontman/guitarist Kyle Toucher left to carry on. Toucher assembled a new lineup of relatively unknown folks and dropped one of the most badass metal albums of the 1980s and got zero recognition from it. This album eschews all remaining bit of punk and fully embraces a unique blend of thrash and doom metal to make what I consider a criminally overlooked masterpiece, all the way. This album is fan-fucking-tastic!
1988 US pressing on Death Records. I have conflicting memories of where I bought this LP, but I have had since the late 80, for sure. Sadly, the end of the Dr. Know run for me. Original members Cruz and Hernandez reformed the band later one and reverted to straight punk, which seemed super regressive to me even though I heard it was a food live act.
