Enslaved has one of the most fascinating evolutionary paths of nearly any other band I can think of, save for Voïvod. And like Voïvod, Enslaved started with brutally and quickly evolved into something completely otherworldly in a matter of a few album cycles. Amazing album and still one of the best bands going these days, full stop.
2019 reissue on the band’s on By Norse Musoc. Looks and sounds amazing. Includes Red (King Crimson) and Earthshine (Rush) as bonus tracks too. Solid release.
