Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Anacrusis were an unusual progressive thrash metal band that dropped just four albums in the late 1980-early 90s. Reason is their second LP and is the product of a band frantically working out their sound and creative process. Unfortunately, this makes Reason less dangerous than its predecessor and less developed than the albums that followed… it’s a bit rushed, but you can feel a band reaching for greatness here. Maybe not for everyone, but if you like weird thrash aka Voïvod or Watchtower, you may dig these fellas.
Original 1990 UK pressing in Active Records. I stumbled across this at a place called Discos Impacto in Barcelona just last week and it was priced just right. Sounds amazing after a quick cleaning.
