After much trauma, Cynic mainman Paul Masvidal bounces back with Ascension Codes. Gotta say, it’s very chill, but I like it. The album is quite progressive, has laid back vibes, ambient passages, and percolating rhythms. Unique and very much Cynic. I don’t spin this one a lot, but when I do, I fond myself digging it more and more.
2021 European pressing on Season Of Mist. Lovely tri-fold sleeve and cool artwork throughout. Very nice.
