Simply a 10-inch single release with one new track “Humanoid” and a remixed version of “Veil Of Maya” from the Focus album. Humanoid is a great track and shows that the band is ready to keep on trucking… but tragedy would await the band. First, there would be a falling out between founding members Sean Reinhardt and Paul Masvidal, causing Reinhardt to split from the band. In 2020, Reinhardt passes away suddenly due to a medical event. Months later longtime bassist and contributor Sean Malone would tragically end his own life. As a result, Humanoid is the final Cynic release to feature Masvidal, Reinhardt, and Malone. Paul Masvidal would carry one, thankfully, but that’s a lot to endure.
