An indisputable classic! The debut LP by San Francisco thrashers Exodus is so fucking good, it blows my mind. Of course, legendary frontman Paul Baloff was not for everybody’s tastes, but for me, he was the best singer for the band. Exodus never quite got the fame or fortune many of their peers enjoyed, but they were every bit as important as Metallica and Slayer, and I’d say even a little more important than the other half of the “big four, Anthrax and Megadeth (nothing against those bands). Alas, heavy drug use and lack of consistency kept them from braking through. The band has been through a lot, but are still going strong to this day.
Original 1985 US pressing on Torrid Records/Combat that I’ve had since forever ago.
