Hirax produces a rather unique brand of crazy-ass thrash metal/crossover that, if nothing else, is entirely unique to them. I really like Hirax, but they are a little weird, if I am being honest. Very punk, musically, but singer Katon DePena has a decidedly heavy metal approach and sort of straddles the punk-metal vibes. I sort of love his take, but it’s a thing, haha! Hirax went large with the art, commissioning none other than Pushead for the cover art and Tom G. Warrior of Celtic Frost to designate their logo, which he did and it’s pretty fucking iconic… plus, still the logo they use today,
2005 US reissue on Deep Six Records and it’s a damn good pressing.
