King Crimson - Islands (1971)

Islands was met with a lot of criticism upon its release as stodgy fans were not keep on a more swinging King Crimson that would, dare I say, play some blues based passages during live sets. But damn, frontman Boz Burrell really had a cool approach and one of my favorite singers in KC. Hard to image this, but Fripp actually taught him to play the bass out of necessity when he joined the band… Burrell is pretty damn good too. A personal favorite LP of mine, without a doubt.

1972 US pressing on Atlantic and it’s held up really nicely, barely any surface noise at all.
