Whew! This was the very first Metallica I heard when one of my best friends from my teens brought this over to my house in 1984 and strongly suggest med that I listen to it. He left it with me for two weeks and I still didn’t play it so it put it on and made me listen to it. My jaw dropped and I was instantly hooked, hahah! Ride The Lightning remains my favorite Metallica album to this day. Their first outing with producer Fleming Rasmussen and some of the snarliest guitar tones of any metal album! Fucking brilliant!
Original US Megaforce pressing, just before the band got picked up by Elektra. Sounds absolutely fantastic.
