Van Der Graaf Generator - The Aerosol Grey Machine (1969)

This debut LP by UK prog legends Van Der Graaf Generator is a nice way (from my perspective) to soak into this band as it’s not as serious or pretentious as some of their later material… and to be sure, I love pretentious music, it’s my jam, hah! Still, there’s an easygoing vibe about this album and it’s still very progressive in subtle ways. The band is just getting rolling, but it’s a cool start.

1969 US pressing on Mercury. This LP was a bit of a rehab project when I picked it up for $7 a few years ago. The cover had seam splits and black gropo all over. I was able to clean up the gropo, repair the seam splits, and gave the LP a thorough cleaning which resulted in a great sounding record.
