While Yob made a significant return with The Great Cessation, for some reason Atma seems even more significant to me. Maybe it’s not just the return, but the newfound solid footing that the band seemed to have embraced at the time of this release and continue to carry forward to this day. One of my favorites by these critically important purveyors or doom!
2022 US reissue on Relapse Records and it’s amazing. Different art from the original, but that’s not a bad thing. Sound is fantastic.
