Sabbath’s first is an astonishingly unique and of course, excellent. This album single-handedly launched heavy metal and about half a dozen sub-genres in one fell swoop. On top of all that, this is a seriously excellent doom metal album by any standard. My world was never the same after hearing this masterpiece.
1970 US pressing on Warner Bros. Sadly, not a gatefold edition, but sounds fantastic nonetheless.
